Not All Aluminum is Created Equal
In the architectural screen and bifold door industry, the structural frame is often overlooked. However, at BKH Systems, we treat the alloy composition as the "DNA" of our products. Every profile bearing the MBORMC® (Class 06) mark is exclusively extruded from Primary 6063-T5 Aluminum Alloy.
1. Chemical Composition & Purity
Unlike many manufacturers who utilize "Secondary" (recycled) aluminum to cut costs, BKH Systems adheres to a strict purity standard.
Silicon (Si) & Magnesium (Mg): Our alloy is balanced to optimize the magnesium-silicide $(Mg_2Si)$ phase, ensuring superior mechanical properties and a flawless surface finish.
Impurity Control: By minimizing Iron (Fe) and Copper (Cu) content, we eliminate the risk of "pitting corrosion," which is the primary cause of frame failure in coastal environments.
2. The T5 Tempering Advantage
The "T5" designation isn't just a label; it’s a thermal process. Our profiles are air-quenched directly from the extrusion press and then artificially aged. This results in:
Optimal Hardness: Achieving 10-12 Webster Hardness (HW), providing the necessary rigidity for high-span folding doors.
Dimensional Stability: BKH frames maintain their shape under extreme temperature fluctuations, ensuring that sliding and folding mechanisms never jam.
3. Surface Readiness for Anodizing
A high-quality alloy is the only way to achieve a high-quality finish. Because our 6063-T5 profiles have a uniform grain structure, they respond perfectly to:
High-Micron Anodizing: For marine-grade protection.
Electrophoretic Coating: For a silk-smooth touch.
Powder Coating: Ensuring the bond between the metal and the paint is permanent.
4. Our Commitment to Class 06 Standards
As holders of the Trademark No. 57344538 (Class 06), MBORMC® ensures that every batch of aluminum undergoes rigorous stress testing. When you choose BKH Systems, you are not just buying a screen; you are investing in metallurgical precision.
